WCAG2
our Bible
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 are the law here at Jon's Designs. We make sure that every site we build and every service we provide perfectly meets up to the standards lain out in the WCAG2. We eat, drink, and even dream this set of guidelines.
XHTML
markup of champions
XHTML™ 1.0, the Extensible HyperText Markup Language, is the medium of choice for Jon's Designs. In fact, we support XHTML so much that we require it for our services, such as Jade CSS. We feel that XHTML provides a much cleaner, stricter, and more consistent markup for creating webpages.
CSS3
stylesheets like a boss
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) 3 is what lets the Jon's Designs developers work the majority of their magic. It is thanks to the coupling of CSS3 and XHTML that services like Jade CSS were able to be conceived.
XHTML Validator
checking the list
Of course, not all products made here at Jon's Designs are perfect on the first attempt. Using tools such as the W3C's XHTML Validator, we can always double check that our pages meet 100% with the standards of the XHTML specification, thus helping to ensure our pages' portability across browsers.
CSS Validator
checking it twice
In the same vein as double checking our XHTML markup, we use the W3C's CSS Validator to double check our cascading style sheets, such as the output of Jade CSS. We would like to note, however, that this tool must be explicitly instructed to check against CSS level 3, as it defaults to level 2.1. Aside from this drawback, we fully support the findings of this tool.
WAVE
top notch accessibility
Probably our favorite and most-useful tool to use has to be the Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool (WAVE) by WebAIM. Honestly, this thing found minor details that even our most qualified team member overlooked! We love this tool so much, and others like it by WebAIM, that they have been added to our list of affiliates.
